SSJB 15 YEARS OF EXISTENCE

Fifteen years of great foundation, love for teaching, and essential learning.

On January 28-30, 2016, the School of St. John Bosco (SSJB) happily celebrated its 15th Foundation Day for three (3) consecutive days, to reminisce, honor and most of all to give thanks to God for everything that has taken place over the past 15 years of SSJBs existence.

Family Day

A Family Day kicked off the event. The students and their respective families were glad to be reunited and they enjoyed the parlor games prepared by the staff. Said family gathering was held at the School’s Gymnasium with the families voluntarily bringing their own snack foods and sharing the same with everyone. It was a fun-filled day with the parents and students actively participating in the games during the said event .

Parade/Gym Mass Demonstration/Cultural Dance

In the morning of the second day, a parade was conducted with all the students, faculty and staff present. While everyone was on the street parading, the rain poured, however, it didn’t deter the passion of those who joined, as they proudly show to the crowd who watched the parade their School Banner and their true Bosconian spirit, brave and God-fearing young boys and girls. The rain was considered as God’s blessing falling down from Heaven.

In the afternoon, a Gym Mass Demonstration followed with the pupils showcasing their dancing skills. The 3-week preparation with all the hard work, constant practice and figure memorization was all worth it as the demonstration turned out to be well organized, not to mention the pupils’ graceful movements with the sound of music.

After the National Anthem and the Doxology, the Principal, Mrs. Ofelia C. Agapay, delivered an Inspirational Message.

The pupils from the Pre- Elem. to Grade VI performed a mass exercise to the tune of YMCA. Another cute performance came from the little kids of Pre- Elem department whose moves have been gracefully executed under the song “Where Have You Been?”. Grade I pupils joyfully presented a cute number with the song, “Bang! Bang!”. Another beautiful number was given by Grade II with the song of “Saranggola ni Pepe”. Likewise, a systematic and well executed number with the song, “All About the Bass” came from Grade III, followed by the combined presentation number of Grade IV and V to the tune of “Wellness”. The coordinated presentation of Grade VI’s “Milo Champ” ended the gym mass presentations.

However, the foregoing presentations didn’t conclude the event for the day. The presentation of various cultural dance ensued after the gym mass demonstrations. A dance number of “Bahay Kubo” represented by the pupils from all levels marked as an endless homage to our tradition. Pre- Elem pupils danced the “Bulaklakan”, whereas the Grade 1 children danced the “Carinosa”. A Hawaiian dance to the tune of “Pearly Shell” was performed by Grade II. The famous “Paru– Parong Bukid” was performed by Grade III, while the Coconut shell dance or “Maglalatik” came from Grade IV and V, and the “Pandanggo Sa Ilaw” from Grade VI.

Homage to the Patron Saint

The highlight of the event was paying homage to the School’s patron saint, Saint John Bosco. A Holy Mass was held followed by the Wreath Laying. As a tribute, selected parents offered flowers to the statue of Saint John Bosco where they personally delivered and expressed their humble and heartfelt messages.

The said event won’t happen without the concerted efforts by everyone, particularly that of the School’s officials and staff led by the beloved Principal, Ms. Ofelia C. Agapay, assisted by the Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Lolita Paz E. Villanueva and the unwavering support of the respected School Administrator, Mrs. Ma. Rhodora S. Articona.

Thank you to everyone, the faculty and staff, the pupils and their families for gracing this momentous occasion.

What a milestone for our School’s 15th year! We look forward to pursuing the mission of our School over the years and beyond.
