The Department of Education (DepEd) spearheaded the 7-day Annual Palarong Pambansa (or National Games) which started last May 4, 2014 and ends today, May 10, 2014. Palarong Pambansa is the biggest annual sporting event for youth participants from all over the country. One of its objectives is to promote physical education and sports as an integral part of learning and in youth’s holistic development.
Elementary and secondary students from public and private schools have participated in this big annual event with more than 10,000 young athletes showing their skills and competing in various sports.
The said National Games was in coordination with Philippine Sports Commission and its National Sports Associations with the Province of Laguna as the host. Gov. Jorge Ejercito Estregan proudly welcomed the guests and participants at the Laguna Sports Complex which was the venue of the event.
We hope that in future, the School of Saint John Bosco would be able to develop and sharpen not only the academic and technical skills of its young boys and girls but also their skills and abilities in sports so they can take part and represent the School and the Province of Laguna in events like Palarong Pambansa or any Inter-Province sports challenge and competition.
Congratulations to the winners of the 2014 Palarong Pambansa!
